3. Quality
● Hand-knotted Rugs - These rugs are durable and strong due to the tight knots used to create them. Many times, the carpet is knotted densely because of its complicated pattern, and that higher density of knots makes it more durable and increases its quality. The artisans spend months creating a single hand-knotted rug, and that itself shows how high-quality these rugs are. ● Hand-knotted Rugs - With asymmetrical knots and slight imperfections, they truly appear handmade and carry the personal touch of the artisan who made them. Because they are handmade, every rug is bound to be unique, so it is likely that you will never see two rugs that are the same. There will always be something different about them. If you buy online hand-knotted rugs, you will realize how good of an investment they are because of their uniqueness.
● Hand-tufted Rugs - These rugs look soft and plush, so they appear as a beautiful piece of interior decor. However, they are not unique because they are partially made by a machine, so there are fewer personal touches, if any.
● Machine-made Rugs - These rugs don't have the look of a handmade rug, so they look as beautiful and lavish as one. Handmade rugs look as if they are made lovingly for you alone but machine made rugs are produced in large batches, so they are identical. This takes away the special feeling you would feel upon owning a rug. Since machine-made rugs are cheap and low-quality, they don't look like luxury items and don't qualify as collectible items.
